FOSTERING

Fostering involves taking in cats of all ages, usually one at a time, into your home or a specially designed cat pen in your garden. The Cats Protection pays for all the expenses.
There are rules but these are mostly common sense. It is very rewarding work and the fosterers know in their heart of hearts that when they hand over a cat / kitten to it’s new owner that they have done a really worthwhile job.
If you think you can help please, perhaps you have a spare bedroom and the time to devote to a needy cat, then please give a ring and speak to us in more detail about what is involved.

HOME CHECKERS

We would also like to hear from anyone who would be wiling to be a Home Checker. These are people who visit potential new owners before a cat or kitten is re-homed to make sure that the home environment is suitable for the cat that will be living there.

After the re-homing is completed a repeat visit is made by the checker to ensure that all is well both with the cat and the new owners.
Home Checking may not sound very exciting but it is an essential part of Macclesfield Cats Protection’s work to be certain that the cat / kitten is homed in the correct environment.

Can You Help?. We really do need people who will do this important work throughout the borough.
