CHICO

The
above picture shows Chico in CP Care
and looking for a new home.
Below
is his story to a a very new home,as the photo's below show.
We were contacted by a family friend in Stoke who Rowena had approached
to see if she could give Chico a home. Unfortunately as she already
had two cats who don't have FIV, she didn't think it was fair on
them to bring an FIV cat in with them. She knew that we'd lost our
last cat Lotta, in July after we'd had to have her put down due
to breast cancer. We hadn't really considered getting another cat
yet, but when we saw Chico we were smitten with him and didn't think
twice! Our first cat had FIV, so we knew the situation we were facing
and that he would be an indoor cat.
We drove across from York to Macclesfield to meet him in October,
and our only disappointment was that we couldn't take him back with
us there and then! He was such a friendly cat and desperate for
a cuddle and a bit of attention. However, as were were away for
a few weekends in November, we didn't get the chance to re-home
until the start of December.
Chico finally arrived to live with us on 6 December and it's hard
to believe he has only been with us for 3 weeks - it seems like
we've had him years. He loves to sit on the windowsill staring out
over the fields and watching the birds in the garden. That's when
he isn't happily curled up asleep in numerous places around the
house which have become his. There's no need for an alarm clock
on a morning anymore either, by 7am he'll move from his position
at the foot of the bed to come and climb over one of us to let us
know it's breakfast time!! This is usually followed by a loud meow
if you happen to be in a deep sleep! Chico also loves to chase sweet
wrappers - if you crinkle the wrapper he'll be chasing it around
the floor like a football within seconds, no need for expensive
toys with this lad!
It's hard to imagine life without him already. If he's not sat sprawled
across your knee he's two steps behind you if you go into the kitchen,
just in case there is the opportunity of a bit more food.....
